Anti-fungal evaluation of synthesized 1,3,5-triazine derivatives against phytopathogenic fungi

Abstract

Seven mono-, di- and tri-substituted derivatives of s-triazine were synthesized by condensation reaction of s-triazine with different aromatic amines at different temperature conditions. The synthesized compounds were characterized by various spectral techniques, i.e. 1HNMR, 1HNMR-D2O, 13CNMR, elemental analysis and mass spectrometry and screened for their antifungal activity against Helminthosporium oryzae, Rhizoctonia solani and Alternaria brassicae. Among all the synthesized triazine derivatives; compounds (5c), (7b) and (5a) were found to be the most effective with ED50 values 4, 7 and 9 pg/ml against H. oryzae, R. solani and A. brassicae, respectively.
