Plastic Surgery Core-level Training in the United Kingdom: An Overview and Evaluation Based on Harden's Ten Questions

In the past, Plastic surgery training in the UK was a random process with no definitive pathway. However with the introduction of Modernising Medical Careers (MMC) and the Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum Project (ISCP) the curriculum has become somewhat more streamlined. The authors assessed the training program on the basis of Hardens Ten Questions and found that even with the introduction of the MMC shortfalls do exist. However; if appropriately addressed the authors are confident that the curriculum will provide adequate training to its trainees. As far as prospective students are concerned the new more structured training pathways appear as a lucrative option.
