Abstract

Incidences of firearm injuries are relatively lesser compared to injuries inflicted by other means. Though the incidences are relatively few, firearm injuries retain the pride of place because of the serious consequences they produce. A retrospective study of firearm cases admitted to Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research for 6 years has been carried out and findings are presented in this paper. Injuries caused by smooth bored weapons predominated over injuries caused by rifled weapons.
