Fixed-dose combinations (FDC) are commonly available and frequently prescribed. All of the combinations available are not rational due to which not only cost is increased but also the incidence of adverse drug reactions is also increased. Norfloxacin and metronidazole is such a combination frequently prescribed for patients of diarrhoea. Here, we present a case of drug-induced urticaria in a child prescribed with this combination, which could have been prevented considering the rationality and contraindications of the prescription.
