Man versus Machine in Medicine: A Twenty-first Century Dilemma

The medicine in twenty-first century has progressed at a rapid pace because of science and technological advances. Simultaneously, science is being viewed in contradictory ways in reference to the future well-being of our society, as well as the principal cause of multitude of problems. The technological advances have raised ethical, moral and legal issues. Its applications require broad-based objectivity. It has transgressed from Hippocratic era to Bioethical era, which led to a big gap in the society. There should be objective to bridge the existing gap between current Biosciences and Society. This effort in turn will enable the common man to exercise their freedom of choice by expressing what they expect from science for their well-being. Considering the philosophy of scientific and technological advances, the medical professionals are compelled today to have a fresh look keeping the objectivity of education, communication and health application.

This article focuses on the merits and demerits of current status of medicine in twenty-first century considering the technology vis-a-vis man.
