Abstract

A poster presentation is a way of showing the results of a study that is either completed or is still in progress. The poster should be designed in a way that it speaks for itself so that the reader can understand exactly what the main objective of the research project was and how and what results were obtained. Poster sessions have been accepted as a way to share scientific information with the students, vet ideas, critically examined interpretations and inspired discussion. Department of Pharmacology from D.Y. Patil Medical University had designed the poster presentation session for second year MBBS students at Maharashtra state level to teach and train students about the different tasks of presenting and evaluating themselves during research activities at undergraduate level. Very surprisingly we noticed that they were able to identify the specific skills they addressed with the theme and realised much more than simply spend a time in preparing it. The poster presentation session promoted the active collaborative work and improved communication skill and encouraged independent creativity and activity.
