A teacher is an essential part of an educational programme. Studies have confirmed that students learn more from good teachers. Teaching is a demanding and complex task. Implicit in the widely accepted and far-reaching changes in medical education is a changing role for the medical teacher.
The aim of this study was to know how the direct feedback questions hinder a student's perception of a good teacher.
This was a questionnairebased study with properly validated questions.
A frequency tally was obtained from the statements of all students. Next, this tally was compared with the second questionnaire data.
Whenever students are involved in selecting a good teacher, they should be given freedom to express their views. They should not be bound with closed-ended questionnaires as many universities do.
