Internship is the transitional phase of training of a medical graduate from student to professional. Its objective is to give hands on training to the students during 1 year of this rotatory training.
To assess the change in perception of interns regarding internship training throughout program duration to evaluate the effectiveness of programme.
Sixty interns participated in study and were administered the structured pre-tested questionnaire before the start of internship and then after the internship training. The change in perception for each question was noted.
Intern's perception regarding the internship training had deviated significantly in negative direction through the internship period for the entire domain in questionnaire except knowledge of hospital functioning.
Internship training is not successful in meeting the expectations of the medical interns.
