Junior doctors are the future eminent doctors of the society. It's their duty to know and practice ethics. This study is done to assess the awareness regarding medical ethics in junior doctors.
To assess the knowledge and attitude of junior doctors regarding medical ethics.
Across-sectional study was conducted from a period of October 2009 to December 2009. All the junior doctors in the institution were included in the study. A structured questionnaire about knowledge and attitude of ethics was designed and data was collected by interview method. Individuals, who didn't give consent and who were not available even after third visit where excluded from the study.
Out of 156 junior doctors 135(86.5%) responded. Seventy individuals (52%) had <75% of knowledge about medical ethics.
Junior doctors in this study lacked detailed knowledge regarding medical ethics. There is need to sensitise doctors and appropriately train them on these issues.
