The doctor-patients relationship has been and remains a keystone of care: the medium in which data are gathered, diagnosis and plans are made, compliance is accomplished, healing, patient's activation and support are provided. The relationship directly determines the quality and completeness of information elicited and understood. Satisfaction is critical factor in people's decision to join and stay with a specific organization. In this study, we sought to establish potential associations between attributes of the physicianpatients relationship and efficacy of treatment.
the patients coming to GSMCH OPD, during the study period were provided with questionnaire-18 and asked to complete it. Only those patients were enrolled in the study those who were willing to provide written informed consent.
A total of 124 subjects were enrolled, 87% of the subjects trusted the doctor and 81% were satisfied with the given treatment. 91% were relieved after taking the medications, out of which 70% completed the course while the remaining stopped the medicine after obtaining relief.
The study shows that a good doctor-patients relationship resulted in good patient's satisfaction and good compliance leading to efficient treatment.
