A free of cost automated system, named ATEX, for monthly and progressive attendance record of MBBS students is presented, which can be used for other courses after suitable modifications by an excel-proficient user. The system requires one-time entry of preliminary data regarding the institution, course, year of admission along with roll numbers and names of all the students, after which, the user has to feed only the monthly attendance. Monthly attendance reports and progressive Y2M attendance and shortage reports can be printed at any time. In addition, some running statistics can be obtained without any major effort.
