Conventional microteaching (MT) is not being practiced frequently by ‘teachers in making’ as well as by senior faculty for improving teaching skills. Although it is regular part of faculty development programmes, there are few takers after they learn about MT concept and process. The concept and process are under continuous evolution due to different meanings and connotations. Its various modifications varying from use of checklists for marking teaching or skills, use of feedback in various forms, use of videos in general and use of reflection writing has tried to make it more acceptable to teachers. Although MT version 2 tried to create non-threatening environment and feedback in a positive way, it is still not used frequently. We propose a MT version 3 (MT3), which uses dedicated video recordings of the session. This is followed by the two processes. In one process, the mobile with video is provided to the ‘learner-teacher’ to review his/her own session for 5 min. The same 5 min are used by the peer group to frame agreed feedback to be delivered by the rapporteur of the group. This makes it very non-threatening as the feedback of the group is delivered by one person. This version MT3 can be useful to the budding teachers as it takes out the fear of one-one feedback and makes it virtually anonymous. The utility and relevance might improve due to MT3.
