Efficiency of different herbicides viz. pendimethalin and fluchloalin for weed control in onion

The present investigation was carried out at main campus, Chatha, SKUAST–Jammu during Rabi 2002–2003 and 2003–2004. The experiment was conducted to ascertain the pre-plant herbicidal effect of. Pendimethalin and Fluchloralin alone or in combination with one hand weeding 45 days after transplanting for effective and selective weed control in Onion. The results recorded maximum reduction in fresh and dry weight of weeds and highest weed control efficiency at higher doses of weedicides alone and in combination with one hand hoeing. Maximum bulb yield was obtained at the highest level of each herbicide viz. Pendimethalin and Fluchloralin (@ 2.50 l/ha).
