White rust (WR) of Brassica species caused by Albugo candida (Pers.) Kuntze is a disease of economic importance in India. The present study deals with understanding of variability of Albugo candida. Isolates collected from two hosts B. juncea and B. carinata were found different in incubation period, latent period, number of zoospores per sporangia and size of sporangia. The isolates i.e. Albugo candida isolate BJ and BC, also showed differences in size, shape and texture of the WR pustules on the leaves collected from two cultivars (Brassicajuncea cv. Kranti and B. campestris var toria cv PT303). It proves the possibility of variability within Albugo candida.
