Field experiments on crop weather relationship in mustard were conducted for five years in the project “All India Coordinated Research Project on Agrometeorology” under rainfed conditions of Jammu. The data reveals that seed yield was highly and significantly correlated with rainfall, minimum and maximum temperature during emergence to flower bud initiation, flower bud initiation to pod formation and pod formation to maturity, respectively. The yield and dry matter were found higher in October-24 (normal) sowing as compared to October-9 (early) and November-8 (late) sown crops. The meteorological parameters were correlated with yield and based on these relationships a location specific regression model was developed. The efficiency of model is 70 percent and could predict the yield 40 days in advance.
