Thirty eight genotypes of fenugreek were grown during the rabi season of 2002–2003 to study the association and contribution of some important traits on seed yield of fenugreek. Correlation studies indicated that seed yield/plant had positive and significant association with pods per plant, number of seeds per pod and 100-seed weight. Similarly, path analysis for seed yield revealed that pods per plant had the maximum positive direct effect followed by 100-seed weight, pod length and number of seeds per pod. Thus, for making effective selection for further improvement of fenugreek aimed at increased seed yield, due consideration must be paid for the characters viz., pods per plant, number of seeds per pod and 100-seed weight.
