An experiment on variability, heritability and correlation was undertaken for eight characters in 53 genotypes of Indian palak. The investigation revealed high to moderate phenotypic coefficient of variance and genotypic coefficient of variance for leaf yield, leaf width, petiole length, number of cuttings and leaf length. High heritability estimates were recorded for all characters under study. However, high genetic gain alongwith high heritability were observed for leaf yield, petiole length, number of cuttings, leaf width and leaf length. Leaf yield (q/ha) was found to be positively and significantly associated with number of cuttings, leaf length, leaf width, petiole length, days to last cutting and cutting duration at both genotypic and phenotypic levels.
