A no till drill machine with double disc type furrow opener was developed and its performance compared with a rotary blade attached seed cum fertilizer drill with reversible shovel furrow openers for no tillage. The performance by rotary blade attached seed cum fertilizer drill gave better results although it consumed more fuel per unit area and its draft was higher. The machine also provided more favorable conditions for seed emergence with respect to depth of penetration, clod formation and coverage.
