Effect of integrated phosphorus management on yield, nutrient availability and phosphorus transformation in green gram

Abstract

A field experiment with green gram was conducted for two consecutive kharif seasons during 2004 and 2005 at SKUAST-K, Shalimar to study the effect of graded doses of phosphorus along with organic and P solubilizing micro-organisms on yield of green gram, availability of nutrients and transformation of phosphorus. The results revealed that the grain yield was significantly increased with P application. Highest grain yield was recorded with the inoculation of P solubilizing bacteria in combination with P @ 30 kg P2O5 ha−1. There was a build up of available N, P and K in soil in integrated nutrient management. The amount of P recovered in Fe-P, Al-P and Ca-P form increased significantly with the application of inorganic fertilizers and their combined use with organic and biofertilizers.
