India is the world’s largest producer of pulses. The pulses are the important source of protein, amino acids and minerals. Water limitation is major problem low productivity of pulses in Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. The performance of micro irrigation systems and flood irrigation methods were observed in fieldpea and chickpea at farmer’s field. The maximum crop yield was recorded in sprinkler irrigation system in both crops (fieldpea and chickpea) as compared to farmer’s field. The water saving per cent i.e. 42.4 per cent was recorded over the conventional irrigation methods. The 21.4 % increase in yield was observed in field pea and where as in chick pea 18.4 per cent was recorded.
