Abstract

The prevalence of ascariosis in buffalo calves in the rural areas around Veterinary College, Bidar was studied for a period of one year. A total of 1333 faecal samples were examined and the overall prevalence was 6%. The prevalence was higher in calves of 1–2 months age group. Higher prevalence was recorded during the months of July to January and it was significantly higher in post south-west monsoon season.
