A cross sectional study was conducted to determine the prevalence of various enteric parasitic infections in sheep. A total of 225 fresh faecal samples were collected from different sheep farms in district Swat, North-West Frontier Province (NWFP). These animals belong to three different age groups i.e. Group I (up to 6 months), Group II (7 to 12 months) and Group III (above 1 year). Faecal samples were processed for the detection of Giardia sp., parasitic ova, cysts, oocysts and other associated parasitic conditions by three different techniques viz., direct smear method, Sheather's sugar floatation and zinc sulphate floatation. The prevalence of the enteric protozoa in various age groups and their association with diarrhoecic cases were briefly discussed.
