Abstract

Mesentery of a weak and emaciated goat showing ecchymotic haemorrhages was collected from Kamal slaughter house (Haryana). The mesentery was cut into smaller pieces and put into normal saline overnight. Next day, a number of white worms with leach-like movement were seen moving in the normal saline and on the mesentery. A few worms were also seen inside the mesenteric blood vessels. The parasites were identified as nymph of Linguatula serrata on the basis of the morphological characters.
