Abstract

The effect of levamisole and trichlorfon on the cholinesterase inhibition in rabbits was studied. Levamisole subcutaneously (S/C) and trichlofon orally were administered to different groups at the same dosage rates and observed that trichlorfon and levamisole significantly inhibited butyryl cholinesterase enzyme where as levamisole pre-treatment did not potentiate the inhibitory activity of trichlorfon. The alkaline phosphatase activity increased significantly. The alkaine aminotransferase activity on the other hand decreased significantly with levamisole. Clinical sings and postmortem lesions were also observed.
