Abstract

Diagnosis of Echinococcus granulosus infection in dogs by latex agglutination test was undertaken in the present study. A total of 250 serum samples of field dogs was examined for detection of E. granulosus specific antibodies using E. granulosus faecal supernatant antigen. The test detected 53 (21.2%) serum samples as positive. The sensitivity and specificity of this test was found to be 100 and 78.80%, respectively.
