A total of 236 faecal samples from five districts of Himachal Pradesh namely Kullu (44), Shimla (22), Mandi (42), Kangra (99) and Una (29) were screened to record the incidence of various gastrointestinal helminths of canines by using standard techniques. Out of 236 samples, 125 (52.90%) were found positive for one or the other type of gastrointestinal helminthic infection. Eggs of the hookworms were found predominantly (19.06%) followed by Dipylidium caninum (16.10%), taeniid (8.47%), Toxocara canis (5.93%) and trichurids (3.38%). Overall highest incidence of gastrointestinal helminths was recorded from district Kullu (59.09%) followed by Kangra (54.54%), Mandi (52.3%), Una (48.20%) and lowest in district Shimla (40.90%).
