Abstract

The present study on anthelmintic resistance (AR) against nematode parasites was carried out in sheep aged 12–24 months at organized sheep breeding farm, Patan (Gujarat). Forty sheep were screened for natural nematode infestation by qualitative faecal sample examination and were divided equally into 4 groups. Group (I) kept as untreated general control group (II) was treated with albendazole @ 5 mg/kg body weight orally, while group(III) was treated with tetramisole hydrochloride @ 35–50 mg/kg body weight orally and group (IV) with ivermectin @ 0.2 mg/kg body weight subantanesously. The relative efficacy of albendazole, tetramisole hydrochloride and ivermectin was 54.32, 66.15 and 72.73%, respectively.
