Contracaecum spiculigerum (Rudolphi, 1809) Railliet and Henry, 1912 in a juvenile wild spotted billed pelican (Pelecanus philippensis philippensis Gmelin, 1789) was recovered from Assam. Morphological description, micrometry and photographs of male parasite are presented in the present communication. The authors claim this as the first report of recovery of the species from Assam, India.
