Characterization of egg antigen of Boophilus microplus by Western blot*

Abstract

The egg antigen of Boophilus microplus resolved by SDS—PAGE revealed 11 polypeptide bands corresponding to the molecular weights ranging from 12.58 to 99.77 kDa. The molecular weights of the individual polypeptide bands were 12.58, 19.05, 22.38, 31.62, 33.11, 34.67, 50.11, 60.25, 75.85, 93.32 and 99.77 kDa. Western blot studies of egg antigen of B. microplus revealed 7 distinct immunogenic polypeptides at 33.11, 34.67, 50.11, 60.25, 75.85, 93.32 and 99.77 kDa.
