Efficacy of moxidectin against sarcoptic mange in sheep

Abstract

The study on efficacy of moxidectin (1% injectable) against sarcoptic mange of sheep in an organized farm revealed the mean lesion score to the tune of 2.67±0.13 and 2.93±0.13 on day 40th and 60th after first treatment in the group treated with 2 subcutaneous injections of Moxidectin @ 200 μg/Kg body weight at 10–14 days interval. ln control group, the severity of lesions persisted throughout the study period. On day 40th and 60th after first injection of moxidectin, 66.7% and 93.3% of animals showed complete recovery.
