Peripheral blood films and tissue smears of 16 out of 20 field rats showed the presence of different parasitic stages of Hepatozoon muris in 9 rats. Parasitic stages suggestive of Trypanosoma lewisi in 4 rats and Babesia like parasite in one rat were also detected in stained blood films of field rats.
