Abstract

Efficacy of three commonly used coccidiostats viz. maduramicin, salinomycin and lasalocid sodium was evaluated in experimentally induced E. tenella infection in broiler chickens. The efficacy was assessed based on percent weight gain, feed conversion ratio, oocyst index, mortality percent and lesion score by using global index formula. Salinomycin showed good efficacy (85.5%) in E. tenella infected birds whereas limited efficacy (77.7 and 74.1%) was observed with maduramicin and lasalocid sodium
