The Culicoides midges were collected at fortnight intervals using down drought light trap to assess the role of climatological factors associated with abundance of Culicoides midges in Bidar of Karnataka state. An analysis of data for the association between the mean abundance of Culicoides midges with climatic factors was carried out. The results indicated a significant positive correlation between the abundance of Culicoides midges and relative humidity (P£0.05). However, negative correlation between mean abundance of Culicoides midges with mean maximum temperature, mean minimum temperature and mean wind speed was noticed, whereas a positive correlation was found to exist, though non-significant with rainfall.
