Occurrence of coccidia infection in rabbits of Kashmir Valley

Abstract

A study on occurrence of coccidiosis was conducted in three breeds of rabbits viz. Angora, New Zealand White and Chinchilla at organized Rabbit farm, Wussan of Kashmir Valley. A total of 150 faecal samples were collected, comprising 50 samples from each breed. The overall infection of the coccidia was observed to be 36.6%. Highest infection of coccidia was observed in the New Zealand White breed (54%) followed by Chinchilla (38%) and Angora (18%).
