Clinico-pathological studies of spontaneous humpsore infection in cattle

Abstract

A total of 1189 cattle were examined irrespective of age and sex, for detection of humpsore disease caused by Stephanofilaria assamensis of which 523 were found to be positive. The gross and histopathological changes of all the lesions of infected cattle revealed in two forms. The dormant or quiescent form of the humpsore, which was observed during the month of winter season and traumatized or active forms of the humpsore observed during the month of summer season or rainy seasons.
