Abstract

The haematological changes such as haemoglobin, PCV, TLC and DLC was studied in goats naturally infected with Sarcocystis caparacanis brought to the Municipal slaughter house at Nagpur. The changes revealed significant reduction in Hb, PVC values and leucocytes as compared to non infected animals. Differential leucocyte count showed neutropenia, lymphocytosis and eosinophilia but no significant change in monocyte count. Histologically the sections of various tissues showed number of cysts of S. caparacanis lying along the axis of muscle fibers, without any cellular reaction around the cysts.
