Abstract

Based on history, clinical findings as well as coproscopic examination 105 dairy female animals were examined for detection of anoestrus complicated with gastro-intestinal (GI) nematode infection in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Per rectal examination revealed swollen valva, soft and small cervix, inflamed uterine horn and smooth and inactive ovaries. Clinical examination also revealed all physiological parameters within the normal range except the body coat of the animals were slightly rough and they showed anaemic symptoms. The study revealed that 67 (63.81%) animals were found to be anoestrus and 83 (79.05%) animals were infected with GI nematode. It was also observed that anoestrus animals (97.01%) were found to be positive for GI nematode infection. Administration of mineral mixture along with anthelmentics helps in recovery of anoestrus cases.
