Anthelmintic resistance in GI nematodes of sheep at farms of Kashmir Valley

Abstract

Faecal egg count reduction test (FECRT) revealed that the Gastro Intestinal Nematodes (GIN) of sheep at Mountain research centre for sheep and goat (MRCSG), SKUAST-K, Shuhama Campus, Srinagar have developed slight resistance to fenbendazole and ivermectin. At government sheep breeding farm, Poshnar, Handwara, GIN of sheep showed slight resistance to ivermectin and moderate resistance to fenbendazole. GIN of sheep at government sheep breeding farm, Zawoora, Shopian have become moderately resistant to fenbendazole and ivermectin.
