The study conducted in 2013 is based on examination of 36 faecal samples of different animal species of Zanaskar region of Jammu and Kashmir. Strongyle type eggs were found in 5 samples (1 from ruminants, 2 each from Zanaskari horses and Himalayan marmot) and Moniezia spp. in 1 ruminant sample. The findings indicated a low rate of parasitic infection in Zanskari livestock advocating for larger sampling across the year for confirmation and further scientific interventions under changing priorities.
