Pathological studies of the stomach of local pigs infected with Simondsia paradoxa caused formation of small nodules and catarrhal gastritis around the embeded parasites; and stomach worms, Ascarops strongylina and Physocephalus sexalatus caused catarhal gastritis, ulceration and congestion. Microscopic changes due to S. paradoxa infection included edema and ulceration of mucosa, fibrous proliferation of the muscular layer and infiltration of the inflammatory cells. Stomach worms A.strongylina and P.sexalatus caused denudation and ulceration of the mucosa, and fibrous proliferation, congestion and infiltration of inflammatory cells around the worms.
