Blood smears of a peacock, brought for treatment to Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal, revealed the presence of gamonts of Haemoproteus in the erythrocytes. The intensity of infection was about one per cent. The birdwas also infested with Haemaphysalis spp. of tick.
