Prevalence of Haemonchus contortus was studied in the abomasi of slaughtered goats in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from March 2011 to February 2012. The overall prevalence rate was found to be 32.7% throughout the year. July and rainy seasons showed peak monthly and seasonal prevalence, respectively (P<0.05). The mean adult worm count peaked during the rainy season while the L4 larvae showed hike in population both in monsoon and winter. Higher infection rate was detected in anaemic (P<0.01) and younger (P<0.05) goats, respectively, while no sex-wise variation was observed (P<0.05).
