The present case study explains rare case of concurrent Babesia canis infection with parvoviral gastroenteritis and its successful therapeutic management in a two month old Rottweiler pup. Blood smear examination for diagnosis of haemoprotozoa showed large form of Babesia spp. organisms in erythrocytes and subspecies level identification confirmed the presence of Babesia canis vogeli by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The pup was treated with single dose of diminazene aceturate @ 3.5 mg/kg B.W. deep I.M. The next day, the pup showed the symptoms of haemorrhagic gastroenteritis. The faecal sample was collected and found negative for parasitic ova and PCR examination revealed concurrent parvovirus infection. The pup was treated with Inj. Ceftriaxone-Tazobactum @ 25 mg/kg B.W. I.V. BID, Inj. Canglob P @ 0.4 ml/kg B.W. I.V. SID and supportive fluid therapy for 7 days. The pup showed improvement in the condition and completely recovered after one week of therapy.
