Histological evaluation of parasites in tissue sections is one of the most difficult aspects of diagnosis of parasitic infections. However, it can be used as an adjunct to other diagnostic methods to evaluate extent of tissue response, possible complications with other etiological agents and generally complement parasitological techniques for detection of parasite etiology. Tissues samples in 10% formalin, collected from various species of animals, birds and rodents at necropsy at the Central University Laboratory of the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Tamil Nadu (TANUVAS) or received from University farms and Training Centers of TANUVAS were studied. A gamut of helminthic and protozoan parasites were identified and discussed.
