Abstract

The carcass of free range male leopard revealed the presence of ticks identified as Rhipicephalus sanguineus, in the ear and on the ventral surface of the body. During post mortem, a few roundworms were found in the pyloric end of the stomach. The worms which measured about 3.5 cm, were identified as Physaloptera sp. The intestinal content was collected during post mortem examination for detection of parasite eggs/ova. The content on examination by direct, sedimentation and floatation techniques revealed the presence of thick shelled, oval shaped and embryonated eggs suggestive of Physaloptera sp. egg.
