The present study records the occurrence of Setaria equina in the eye of horse. The case was presented with corneal opacity in one eye, epiphora and blepharospasm. On examination, a milky white parasite was seen moving in the eye chamber, which was recovered by incision. The parasite was identified as Setaria equina and differentiated from other Setaria sp. The blood sample of affected horse revealed increase in WBC and high (10%) eosinophilia. A large scale study for prevalence of Setaria equina should be undertaken for understanding the dynamics of ocular setariosis in Jammu and Kashmir.
