Abstract

The study assessed the incidence of endoparasitism in captive tigers (Panthera tigris) maintained at Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Vandalur, Tamil Nadu. A total of 26 scat samples were collected from captive tigers during June-July, 2024. All the samples were examined by standard qualitative faecal examination methods (direct smear, centrifugal sedimentation, floatation methods and quantitative technique). Out of 26 samples, 7 (26.92%) revealed the incidence of Toxocara cati infection, while one sample (3.85%) revealed strongyle ova. The overall incidence of helminthic infection was observed as 30.76%.
