Abstract

The diversity of endophytic bacteria in three different areas of Jabalpur was assessed using leaves samples collected from Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (J.N.K.V.V), Tropical Forest Research Institute (T.F.R.I.) and State Forest Research Institute (S.F.R.I), Jabalpur. In total, 15 culturable endophytes were recovered from the interior of Tamarindus indica leaves. Identification was made by using the 16S rRNA gene, which is the barcoding gene, to identify bacteria. Endophytic bacteria were identified by comparing 16S rRNA gene sequences obtained from bacterial isolates and those deposited in the (NCBI) GenBank database using the BLAST tool to obtain the sequences that displayed maximum similarity. Results of this analysis based on 16S rRNA sequence analysis Bacillales order was identified. 15 endophytic bacteria were classified into 1 genera including 1 species: Bacillus subtilis.
