This study examined the changing trends in canal irrigation in Bhiwani District from 1980-81 to 2020-21. It analyzed intra-block variations, identified factors influencing irrigation changes, and evaluated the impact of government policies and infrastructure improvements. The research employed statistical analysis and GIS-based mapping to visualize trends. Findings indicated a steady increase in canal irrigation, though disparities persisted due to geographical and infrastructural constraints. Policy recommendations emphasized improving canal maintenance, integrating modern irrigation technologies, and ensuring equitable water distribution to sustain agricultural productivity. The increasing demand for agricultural productivity in semi-arid regions like Bhiwani District necessitated a shift in irrigation strategies. Canal irrigation played a pivotal role in ensuring water accessibility and stability for farming communities. This study investigated the changing trends in canal irrigation from 1980-81 to 2020-21, focusing on intra-block variations and the factors influencing these changes. A comprehensive analysis was conducted using statistical tools and GIS-based mapping to assess irrigation expansion and disparities among different blocks. The study identified the impact of government policies, climate variability, and infrastructural developments on canal irrigation. While advancements in irrigation infrastructure led to overall improvements, challenges such as unequal water distribution and system maintenance persisted. The research highlighted the role of technological integration in irrigation management, emphasizing the importance of remote sensing and automated water distribution techniques. These innovations helped optimize water resource utilization and mitigate regional disparities in irrigation coverage. Additionally, the study explored how variations in soil characteristics and topography affected irrigation efficiency across different blocks.
