The quality of the Environment is enhanced by green cover and mass. Trends in Human settlement are urban. Green space aspect has required for optimal benefits of sustainable urban planning. Urban Green Guidelines of India (2014) have opted for an urban green space classification schema in the Hisar city. Major types of urban greens refer to the areas such as reserved forests, protected forests, national parks, district Parks, neighborhood parks, tot-lots, playgrounds, green belts, green strips, and tree cover. Present research identifies, delineates, and characterizes the green space in urban Hisar city using very high-resolution sentinel-2 (2022) satellite imagery with a spatial resolution of 10 m. The on-screen digitization method has been used to extract green spaces. Because the human mind can intervene and full control over manual editing is maintained, this method has been regarded as the best. The study identifies that very high urban green space is available at Universities. High urban green space is available at colleges and schools. Modern new sectors and town pockets have moderate green space. Colonies and Nagar have low urban green space. Slums and very old settlements have very low green space. Recommendations are suggested for optimal enhancement of urban green space.
